People from all over the country attended a conference in East Palestine, Ohio on March 23, 2024. The conference was about the struggles the residents of East Palestine have been going through since a train carrying toxic chemicals derailed on February 3, 2023 and was subsequently blown up a few days later.
At the conference, residents, union members from rail and other industries, along with activists of all stripes discussed strategies to help the residents of East Palestine who have been impacted by the train derailment that happened there on February 3, 2023.
The conclusion that came out of the conference was a need for more education and more conferences, perhaps in other sacrifice zones.
